The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department asks all citizens to maintain fire hydrants located on their property. That means clearing away snow in the winter, and overgrown shrubs or grasses in the summer.
Precious seconds count, the Dept. says, and keeping the hydrants clear of other materials makes them easier to locate in an emergency.
