Exceptional Success of Hollis Physician
On June 28, 2013 after graduating from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center Residency program, Dr. Tahir Ahmad Khan became the first and only physician and surgeon in the Nation to hold a Bachelors of Science (BS), Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), Doctor of Medicine (MD, Magna Cum Laude), Master in Public Health (MPH, Magna Cum Laude), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD in Neuroscience, Magna Cum Laude) and Certificate in Healthcare Administration (with Honors). He has since accepted the position of Chief Resident Physician at the United States Department of Veteran Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System in Manhattan, NY.
At the graduation ceremony, Dr. Khan was also awarded second prize at this year’s “Wyckoff Heights Medical Center Resident Research Competition” from among around a hundred and fifty residents for his abstract titled “An Overview of Gait Analysis among Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Patients”.
In February 2013, Dr. Khan received the Nation’s Highest Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama. Previously he was the recipient of “2005-2006 University of Wisconsin Outstanding Volunteer Award”.
