Candy: Stronger Than Sandy

Great Neck kids trick-or-treat along Middle Neck Road in Great Neck Plaza as recovery continues from superstorm.

Apparently the lure of candy is stronger than the wrath of Sandy.

With much of the Great Neck area crippled with the after effects of superstorm which blew through the peninsula Monday night, dozens of kids still made it out to Middle Neck Road in the Village to enjoy trick-or-treating.

With the annual Great Neck Village Halloween parade cancelled because of safety concerns and school out for kids all week, most all seemed in good spirits as they walked in costume collecting treats from stores along the road.

Luckily for the Plaza, electrical service to many of the stores and traffic lights has remained on. Many of those walking said power has not been restored in their homes.
