Jewish Group Shir Appeal To Perform In Great Neck

Temple Israel to host free a capella concert Feb. 16.

Temple Israel of Great Neck will host Shir Appeal, a co-ed Jewish a capella group from Tufts University.

Established nearly 20 years ago, singers present a spectrum of Jewish music including: Hebrew pop, Israeli rock, traditional liturgical melodies and English songs with Jewish themes.   

The free, Feb. 16 concert begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Blue Room of Temple Israel. The event is sponsored by the Kahan's, longtime members of the Temple Israel family.

“We are thrilled and honored to have such a dynamic group share their talents with us, and we hope our members and their friends in the community stop by for this musical treat,”  said Rabbi Howard Stecker of Temple Israel.
