Huntington native Joe Bartumioli said he was so moved when he watched HBO's "Real Sports" report on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team last September that he made it his personal mission to bring the team to Long Island, and his vision is coming true on Aug. 4.

The team, which is not affiliated with the Wounded Warrior Project, includes nearly 20 amputee veterans from the post-9/11 era, all of whom wear some form of prosthesis. They are coming to the South Fork for a Friday evening cocktail reception at in Sag Harbor on Aug. 3 and a softball game against local celebrities and all-stars at  in Sag Harbor on Aug. 4.

The Eastern Property Owners' Association (EPOA) was joined by many concerned residents Thursday to further discuss the 100,000 square foot expansion of Roosevelt Field Mall.

Thomas J. Schneider, executive vice president of the Simon Property Group, which owns Roosevelt Field Mall, presented further images and details regarding the expansion project. Renovations are set to start in 2013 and are projected to be completed in 2015, according to Schneider.

The Molloy College men's lacrosse team's is hosting a youth clinic this Tuesday evening at on behalf of the Save Seaford Sports Committee

The lacrosse clinic, which is for boys entering grades kindergarten through fifth grade, costs $25 with all proceeds going toward Save Seaford Sports and their mission to restore fall and winter athletic teams not included in the district's 2012/13 budget. The clinic, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., will be run by Molloy men's lacrosse head coach Eric Petrullo.

FDA Warns Against Oyster Bay Shellfish

The Food and Drug Administration placed an alert on shellfish harvested in Oyster Bay Harbor after several people reported symptoms found to be from a bacterial illness.

FDA officials say that shellfish harvested in Oyster Bay Harbor have been linked to cases of the bacterial illness, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, typically characterized by nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The FDA said symptoms can take anywhere from a few hours to five days to begin after eating uncooked fish.

I didn't really expect to either. But why would we continue to support establishment candidates when the systems continue to fail, property taxes continue to rise, services continue to decrease, corruption on every level from local to federal exists, and you have a complicit media with your own wife at the helm.
