A pedestrian was struck Sunday on South Middle Neck Road in Great Neck Plaza near the Long Island Rail Road Station, according to police.
A portion of Middle Neck Road South at Barstow Road was closed by police following the accident which occurred at 6:10 p.m.
The victim's name, gender and status was not provided by police on Monday.
The unknown pedestrian was treated for a serious head injury and transported to the hospital by emergency responders at the scene.
"I have no idea of the status. As far as I know, they did not die," said a Nassau police public information officer to Patch.
