Paul 'Shilts' Weimar Plays in Great Neck Plaza Summer Concert

With his latest album “All Grown Up” receiving rave reviews and
singles from it on the top of Smooth Jazz charts, the Village of Great Neck
Plaza announces the return engagement of highly acclaimed saxophonist Paul
'Shilts' Weimar performing on Tues., July 2 at 8 p.m. in Firefighter's Park on
Grace Avenue.    This
free concert, presented by the Village, is open to the public and we urge you
to attend this live show.  Shilts is a major, successful jazz recording artist who headlines
at major music festivals across the country.
Stated Mayor Jean Celender, “It’s great to have Shilts back performing
for us again and closing out his current tour in the Plaza.  We’re absolutely thrilled and this is a summer
music extravaganza in the Plaza not to be missed.”  Jon’s Park is less
than a 5-minute walk from the Great Neck train station.

Paul "Shilts"
Weimar, from London, England, has excited audiences for decades.  Since 2008 when he went solo, he has produced
five solo releases.   For eleven years prior he was the band leader
and front-man of Down to the Bone, a contemporary jazz band that heavily
featured Paul's saxophone playing and writing.  Shilts has had a string of
hits with his "upbeat, funky, original" sound that makes him a
leading session musician for recording artists such as David Bowie, Jimmy
Paige, and Bill Wyman, to name just a few.

The Village is grateful for the support
from The Andrew Hotel for this performance.  We would also like to
thank the Great Neck Park District, Great Neck Senior Center, and the Great
Neck Arts Center for their cooperation and support throughout this popular
summer series.  Please bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating on the
park lawn.  The Great Neck Senior Center (80 Grace Avenue) will be
utilized for an indoor performance in the event of inclement weather.
Call Village Hall, (516) 482-4500, and after 5 p.m. there will be a voice
recording if the concert has been moved indoors.
