Question: Is it Time For Campaign Sign Posting Limits?

How long is too long for signs to stay up after a vote?

The election ended more than a week ago but throughout Great Neck Thursday many campaign signs were still on display on roadsides and lawns — some standing, some not.

In a quick check of the area, Rep. Steve Israel and Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, each reelected to office, had the majority of signs still on display. Signs from the campaigns of Richard Stiek, Daniel Ross, Jack Martins and Stephen Labate were also visible Thursday.

Tell us what you think: Should the Town of North Hempstead put a limit on the number of days campaign signs can remain standing after an election is over? How long is too long for the signs to stay up after an election?
