Tell Us: Replace LIPA with a Private Company?

That's a state commission's recommendation: What do you think?

We posed a simple question on our Facebook page on Monday:

A state commission has recommeded replacing LIPA with private utility.

Do you agree?

I seem to remember that we tried that many years ago with a company called LILCO. How did that work out for us? LIPA is a State agency. The Governor appoints the people who sit on the board if LIPA. The last few Governors of NYS have used LIPA as political patronage positions for whoever donated large sums of money to their campaigns. The taxpayer once again comes up short on services. Republicans and Democrats alike have feathered their nests at taxpayer expense. Look who sits on the board of LIPA. Not one person who has knowledge on how to run a large utility company. People better wake up before its to late!

Can we do any worse with the present non-representing representatives?
