Bank Robbery Friday; Great Neck North Temporarily Locked Down

Nearby bank robbery prompts school district response.

Update: Police have released details of the alleged robber.

Great Neck North High School was locked down for approximately five minutes Friday morning as a result of a reported bank robbery at nearby Chase Bank, according to school officials.

A school official told Patch the lockdown occurred at about 10 a.m. The school is back to normal operations.

Nassau police said a call was received regarding a robbery at Chase Bank, 675 Middle Neck Rd., at 9:34 a.m. Friday. The incident is under investigation by police. No other details have been made available.
