Police: Doc Arrested with Pills, Forged Prescriptions

Nassau County Police arrested a Greenvale doctor on drug and prescription forgery charges Monday after finding a horde of pills and prescription sheets in his parked car. 

Dr. Edmond Hakimi, 32, is charged with three counts of second-degree forgery and seven counts seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a search of his 2013 Jeep yielded a number of pills. 

Officers from the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team approached the parked vehicle at 10:15 p.m. in the rear lot at 560 Northern Blvd. in Great Neck. Hakimi was found sitting in the front seat with a white powdery substance believed to be Xanax or Adderall, police said.

A search of the Jeep turned up two suboxone film strips, a cigarette pack containing three white pills identified as Alprazolam, a prescription bottle in the name of another that contained 27 yellow pills believed to be Clonazepam, a prescription bottle in another’s name that contained three yellow pills believed to be Alprazolam, a white bottle containing a leafy substance believed to be marijuana, five blank prescription sheets and three prescriptions in the defendants name.

Police said further investigation also recovered a container of 144 yellow pills believed to be Alprazolam, 27 pink pills believed to be amphetamine and a white powdery substance believed to be Cialis.

Hakimi was arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
