Saddle Rock Home Damaged by Fire

No injuries reported in Tuesday night blaze in Great Neck.

The owners of a pricey Saddle Rock home were picking up the pieces Wednesday after a fire swept though their residence Tuesday night.

The blaze broke out at about 9:50 p.m. at the two-story home at 9 Brookbridge Rd.

Units from the Great Neck Vigilants and Manhasset-Lakeville departments placed the fire under control at 10:30 p.m.

Boarded up windows, a burned out vent and shards of glass could be seen at the home Wednesday as residents of the dwelling stood outside assessing the damage.

A resident of the home said there were no injuries in the blaze.

The incident occurred as a severe thunderstorm was moving through Great Neck.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Update: Sept. 20 at 12:36 p.m.: The Alert Fire Company was the primary response agency. Alert called for mutual aid from the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, the Vigilant Fire Company and the Port Washington Fire Department, according to Chief Laurence Jacobs of the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company.
