Port Washington Patch has confirmed that there were two girls – not one, as originally revealed to Patch – were injured in a sledding accident on Sunday.
At the Port Washington Police Commissioners meeting on Tuesday morning, Detective Tony Guzzello provided an update on the girls’ status. One girl had an injury to the back of her head and is at a local hospital where she is faring well. The other girl remains in a medically induced coma and was stable through the night. Doctors are optimistic that she will make a recovery. At this time she is listed in critical condition.
Police Commissioner Dave Franklin asked Guzzello to let the families know the community is thinking of them.
To those at the meeting, Franklin said, “Keep them in your prayers.”
