13 Nassau Mayors Endorse Suozzi for Executive

A bi-partisan coalition of Nassau County mayors have announced their endorsement of Tom Suozzi for County Executive. 

The mayors for Suozzi include Republicans, independents and Democrats from cities and villages across Nassau County, including Suozzi's cousin, Glen Cove Mayor Ralph Suozzi.

"Tom Suozzi has a proven record of working with local officials to cut through the cumbersome bureaucracy and make government work better for our villages and our residents," said Mayor Robert Kennedy, of Freeport. "This has been missing in county government for the last few years and we need to get back on track. We can do that with Suozzi."

Suozzi, the former two-term county executive is seeking to unseat Edward P. Mangano, who defeated Suozzi four years ago

"When Nassau County is in fiscal straits it pushes a heavier burden onto our local governments," said Mayor Wayne Hall of Hempstead Village. "Tom Suozzi fixed the county's finances before and we need him to fix them again.”

Suozzi said he was "humbled" by the support. 
 
"There are over four hundred taxing entities in Nassau County; we need to find ways to work together to share services and cut costs," he said. "Together we can grow this county—creating jobs, expanding our tax-base, and building the ideal suburb for us and for the future."

Village of Great Neck Mayor Ralph Kreitzman endorsed Suozzi as an individual, but not as his official capacity as mayor. His endorsement does not equal the endorsement of the Village of Great Neck.

• Malverne: Patricia Norris-McDonald (D)
• South Floral Park: Goeff Prime (D)
• Center Island: Larry Schmidlapp (R)
• Glen Cove: Ralph Suozzi (D)
• Port Washington North: Robert Weitzner (D)
