Great Neck South Honored For Robotics

The high school's robotics team was recognized by the Town of North Hempstead.

The Great Neck South High School's robotics team was honored by the Town of North Hempstead board Tuesday night before it's board meeting for winning the engineering inspiration award.

The team qualified to make it to the robotics competition in St. Louis, Missouri, Councilwoman Lee Seeman said.

"You showed true resolve, amazing intellect and sportsmanship," Councilwoman Seeman said.

The team's coach, John Motchkavitz, said that his team has 60 students and has made it to the championships four out of the last five years. The team created this year's robotics project in six weeks, he added.
