Government in your attic?
That's the word from the where the Village Board of Trustees is considering a proposal to regulate attic living space usage.
Board members discussed at a Sept. 6 meeting the possibility of preventative measures aimed at residents who create living spaces in their attics without village approval, according to a Great Neck News report
With an increased number of residents constructing staircases to attic spaces, Village Mayor Ralph Kreitzman proposed permits for stairways and ladders ‘as of right,’ with the requirement of the third floor to be a living space, according to the report.
