Nearly 200 people took advantage of a free Community Health Fair last month at Great Neck House, according to event sponsors who dubbed the event a "success."
Sponsored by North Shore-LIJ Medical Group, the Oct. 24 health fair offered an array of health services including free blood pressure screening, free cholesterol screening, free blood glucose screening, free calculation of body mass index (nutrition counseling), flu immunizations for adults, an "Ask the Doctor" table, tips on "Elderizing Your Home" and diabetes education.
Nassau Legis. Judi Bosworth said was pleased that so many residents were able to avail themselves of the services and information.
"A special thank you to Rosemarie Ennis and her staff at the North Shore-LIJ Division of Community Education and Health who did so much to make this event such a huge success," said Bosworth, D-Great Neck, in a press release.
