Domino Effect: Plaza Fills Vacant Village Posts

Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees approves appointees to unexpired seats left open by recent appointments.

The Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees approved Wednesday the nominations of two residents to vacant village posts.

At a swearing-in ceremony at Village Hall, Michael Deluccia was welcomed as the newest member of the Great Neck Plaza Board of Zoning Appeals by Mayor Jean Celender.

Deluccia, a former member of the Great Neck Historic Preservation Commission, fills a vacant term ending March 31, 2015.

"With the appointment of Larry Katz to our Board of Trustees, that opened up a seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals," said Celender at the ceremony.

Filling the seat left open by Deluccia's appointment, longtime Great Neck Plaza resident Eileen Falk was sworn in as the newest member of the Plaza's Historic Preservation Commission.

Falk is a real estate broker and the daughter of former Village of Great Neck Mayor Stephen H. Falk.

"She's got great qualifications to serve on this board," said Celender. "She'll be an asset to the Historic Preservation Commission."

Falk was sworn in by Trustee Pamela Marksheid. Falk's term was extended until 2015, according to Village Clerk Pat O'Byrne.

The new appointees were unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees at the meeting.
