Representatives from the New York Department of Financial Services will be in Nassau County later this month to help homeowners, renters and business owners with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by Superstorm Sandy.
A mobile command center will be set up in Nassau County Friday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Riviera, 200 East Shore Dr., in Massapequa. Finacial services personell will help citizens to sometimes hard-to-reach insurers and answer questions about various insurance coverages.
Other mobile locations are planned for Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
Citizens unable to attend are encouraged to call the department's storm hotline at (800) 339-1759. The line is staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily including weekends. Insurance information is available on the department's website, www.dfs.ny.gov.
