UPDATE: Halloween Parade Called Off

Parking regulations suspended as well in Great Neck Plaza.

The annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Great Neck Plaza has been called off, according to a statement posted on the village website Wednesday.

Parking regulations have also been suspended in the village Wednesday.

Sponsored by the Village of Greck Plaza and the Great Neck Business Improvement District, the children's event is scheduled to take place at the train station on Middle Neck Road starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday and wind downtown to Plaza stores.  

The Great Neck Plaza website lists the event as originally scheduled. Mayor Jean Celender was not available for comment Wednesday as of 9 p.m.

Superstorm Sandy has left many in Great Neck without power and many roads blocked by fallen trees.

Schools have been out all week in Great Neck due to the storm.
