Supervisor Race Is On
After months of speculation last fall linking Jon Kaiman to the LIPA chief executive post, followed by exploring a run for the Nassau County Executive job this spring, it turns out the North Hempstead Supervisor will have to fight to keep his current gig.

Dina DeGiorgio, R-Port Washington, a North Hempstead councilwoman, announced her candidacy to challenge Kaiman Thursday. She has the support of key Nassau Republicans, from Sen. Jack Martins to County Executive Ed Mangano.

Even former Sen. Al D’Amato has come out in support of DeGiorgio, and he made national headlines in the process. His comments were picked up by The Huffington Post.

New Line of Communication
Ryan Mulholland is the newest member of The Town of North Hempstead’s Communications Department. Mulholland, who started in March, joins three others in a department headed by Director of Communications Collin Nash.

Mulholland, 29, of Wantagh, is a MacArthur High School and Molloy College graduate. He was previously Director of Communications for the 9,000-member Civil Service Employees Association Local 830, a post he served in for seven years.
