BOE Close to Ruling on Tutoring Policy Change

Village School students to be recognized; policies on bullying and tutoring on Great Neck school board agenda Monday.

The Great Neck school board will discuss Monday a proposed policy to disallow teachers from privately tutoring students who attend classes in the same building.

Introduced in October, the policy has left some faculty members, parents and students divided in recent public discussions.

If approved, the new rule would continue to allow teachers to tutor students from other schools in the district, just not their own.
